Music Makers -- by Bill Irvin
Music Makers                                                March 2005

Bill couldn't make it to the session this month so EARLYJAS VP Jim Emert supplied the following account of
the February Jam Session.

The EARLYJAS February 27th jam session was very well attended, with twenty-eight musicians
participating.  And a very nice crowd was there to listen and dance as the various groups played out some
old goodies including: Honeysuckle Rose, Darktown Strutters Ball, Do You Know What It Means To Miss
New Orleans, Ice Cream and Georgia on My Mind.

The fifty-fifty raffle split seventy-nine dollars with Bill Parthe, winner, who was in hiding when the winning
ticket was drawn, but who graciously accepted his winnings after being found in the……, well I’ll let you
guess.

The 19th anniversary of EARLYJAS was celebrated with an official cake slicing ceremony handled by Barb
Scott. The cake was enjoyed by all those who partook.  Thanks to Barb for securing the cake and getting it
to the session.

Our new venue in American Legion Post 464 in Hudson has been very well received by our members.  It is
shiny new and big enough for comfortable seating, listening and dancing.  While our food offerings are
limited to burgers, fries and chicken wings, the food is good and the service friendly and prompt.
